AND
CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES

On ' May 15, 1940, the National Labor Relations Board, herein
called the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the
above-entitled proceeding.' Pursuant to' the Direction of Election,
an election by secret ballot was conducted on June 13,1 1940, under
the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Elev-
enth Region (Indianapolis, Indiana). On June 14, 1940, the Regional
Director,, acting pursuant, ;to Article `III, Section,:9, of National
Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended,
issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report.
As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported
as follows :

On June 20, 1940, International Union, UnitedrAutomobile Workers
of America, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations,
herein called the CIO-UAW, filed with the Regional Director its
objections to the conduct of the ballot and the Election Report. On
June 25 and July 5, 1940, respectively, United Aircraft Engine
Workers, Inc., and General Motors Corporation, Allison Division,

Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor
Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued
and duly` served his; Report on the Objections of the CIO-UAW to
the conduct of the secret ballot and the Election Report.
The Board has considered the Objections of the CIO-UAW and
finds that they do not raise substantial or material issues with re-
spect to the conduct of, the ballot or.the, Election Report., , The Ob-
jections are hereby overruled.
