Section 9-24-16-3.5 - Documentary evidence of lawful status or parole and Social Security number

In addition to the information required for the applicant for an identification card under section 3 of this chapter, the bureau shall require an applicant to present to the bureau:

(1) valid documentary evidence that the applicant has:
(A) lawful status; or
(B) a pending application for adjustment of status to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States or conditional permanent resident status in the United States;

and

(2) evidence of the Social Security number of the applicant. If federal law prohibits the issuance of a Social Security number to the applicant, the applicant must provide verification of the applicant's ineligibility to be issued a Social Security number.
