Section 1230.1 - Establishment of fee arbitration program

(a) The Chief Administrator of the Courts shall establish a fee arbitration program, which shall be approved by the justices of the Appellate Divisions and which shall provide for the resolution by arbitrators of fee disputes between an attorney and client based upon representation in civil matters.

(b) The fee arbitration program established by the Chief Administrator pursuant to this Part shall provide for arbitration that shall be binding upon both attorney and client unless de novo review is sought in the courts.
