The petition for leave to appeal is allowed. In the exercise of this court's supervisory jurisdiction, the judgment of conviction for armed violence entered by the circuit court of Cook County in People v. Haepp, No. 82-2339, and the affirmance of that judgment by the Appellate Court, First District, in People v. Haepp, No. 83-0584, are reversed.

( People v. Del Percio (1985), 105 Ill.2d 372.) The sentence for attempted murder imposed by the circuit court of Cook County in People v. Haepp, No. 82-2339, and affirmed by the Appellate Court, First District, in People v. Haepp, No. 83-0584, is vacated. This cause is remanded to the circuit court of Cook County for sentencing on the attempted-armed-robbery conviction and for resentencing on the attempted-murder conviction. The judgments of the appellate and circuit courts are otherwise affirmed.

JUSTICE RYAN, dissenting:

I dissent for the reasons stated in my dissent in People v. Del Percio (1985), 105 Ill.2d 372, 384.
